Making payments

What is my CVV code?

That's the 3-digit number on the back of your Visa or MasterCard, usually around the area where your signature is supposed to go.

Fun fact: A CVV code sometimes also goes by the name of CVC, CVD, CVN or Kevin.

About 3D Secure

3D Secure is an extra layer of security to make sure that your online payments are safe and secure. When your card is enrolled for 3D Secure you will have the peace of mind that your card cannot be used by others.

In general, you will either be sent a One Time PIN (OTP) for every transaction, or you may be asked to enter a PIN.

These protocols are called Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode, and the precise implementation depend on your card type and bank.

What is my UCount Rewards 3D SecureCode?

Your UCount Rewards card’s 3D SecureCode is a five-digit number that is used to authorise online transactions.

You can only get your 3D SecureCode by logging onto the UCount Rewards website, selecting ‘Manage my UCount Rewards Card’ and then selecting ‘Get my 3D SecureCode’.

3D Secure helps keep your payments safe.

What is the balance of my UCount Rewards?

There are a few easy ways to find your UCount Rewards balance:

  • You can SMS the word "BALANCE" to 45224. SMS costs R1.00.
  • Standard Bank send you an SMS with your rewards points balance each month, only if you have a minimum balance of 250 points.
  • Log on the UCount Rewards website to download your rewards statement and to check your balance here.
  • You can call the UCount Rewards Contact Centre on 0860 82 68 68.

I sent payment but EFT order is pending

If you paid via EFT, and manually sent through some sort of payment confirmation, we'll need a little time to process, since one of our specially trained humans will need to get involved and it can take a little longer for your order to be confirmed.

This is particularly the case when:

  • cash deposits at a teller
  • When you forward a proof of payment from your bank to us
  • you take a photo of a payment slip
  • Screenshots sent from mobile banking apps
  • A copy of a fax, that got scanned and emailed to us

To prevent this: while in online banking, get your bank to send it straight to us and all is dandy.

Where do I send proof of payment?

EFT@onedayonly.co.za

In online banking, please get your bank to send proof of payment, and you'll be done. We have a system in place that reads those emails and your order will be automatically confirmed.

If you send one manually (especially faxed/scanned/photographed), one of our specially trained humans will need to get involved and it can take a little longer for your order to be confirmed. This is when:

  • cash deposits at a teller
  • When you forward a proof of payment from your bank to us
  • you take a photo of a payment slip
  • Screenshots sent from mobile banking apps
  • ...You probably get the drift...

So: while in online banking, get your bank to send it straight to us and all is dandy.

Placing orders

How do returns work?

If you want to return a product for a refund, be sure to contact us within 7 days of receipt with the order number, the name of the product you would like to return and the reason for return.

Note that we cannot provide a refund unless the product is in original condition: including packaging, documentation, warranty cards, manuals and accessories.

Please also note that 1) we do not accept returns on underwear, lingerie, bras, panties, swimwear, earrings and such and that 2) return freight is at the customer's expense.

We're sorry Uncle Joe didn't like his new bidet.

Can I cancel an order?

Certainly. Please send us a message with the order number and - if appropriate - why you'd like to have the order cancelled and we will process.

What is my Password?

If you are having a hard time remembering your password, it's probably best to get a new one.

On our login page, click the Forgot Password? button and let enter your email address you used to sign up.

Please note that if you signed up with Facebook, this won't work: your Facebook password is strictly between you and Facebook.

I'm having trouble logging in

Oh dear. Personally, we're big fans of Facebook's login functionality because with that we don't need to remember passwords anymore.

If you don't like Facebook (wut?) and created an old school account, you can reset your password.

I'm having trouble setting my address?

A few fields are critical to your order, and the suburb field is the most critical of 'em all. When you start typing, it brings up suggestions: make sure you pick one.

Some browsers sometimes have trouble with our suburb "widget." Please use Chrome or Firefox for the best results.

Once you have selected the right suburb, the fields for town, province, postal code and country will automagically be completed.

See below:

Make sure to select the correct Rosebank. You'll have a bad time otherwise.

How do I set my town on Checkout?

You actually can't. You do have to make sure that you set the correct suburb. Start typing the first few characters and select your suburb.

The rest will be automagically completed.

See the image below:

Make sure you select the correct Rosebank.

Shipping

Why does shipping take so long?

The short version:

We don’t hold stock. Our partners deliver exactly what we need, after a deal has run. That way we keep our costs down, prices low and everybody (including you) happy.

The long version:

We're not like other online shops with a fixed catalogue and tons of stock. Instead, most of our products never come back to our website again. That’s how we want it, as it keeps us fresh and unpredictable (win #1).

So, after you (and lots of others) have placed your orders, we go to our suppliers and place a massive, single order. Our suppliers love this, as it keeps things simple and moving along smoothly. Happy suppliers equal low prices (win #2).

Since we don’t hold stock, we can work with a cheaper, medium-sized warehouse, instead of a mega-warehouse (win #3) and we’re saving lots on not needing any processes involved in handling and returning unsold stock, allowing us to offer better deals (win #4).

The practice of not holding stock is one of the core principles behind OneDayOnly’s success.

That, and our sparkling personalities of course.

No tracking information is available

If you have just received our email saying your parcel has been dispatched, please give it a few hours.

Our couriers start sending tracking information three to eight (yup) hours after parcels left our warehouse.

On the other hand, if it has been a day or longer - get in touch and we'll get on it right away!

Why hasn't my item shipped yet?

We're cheap but we're not very fast. We can (and often do) take up to 10 working days to deliver.

If it has been longer than that, please leave us a message and we'll look into it.

If it hasn't been 10 days just yet, there's a good chance that we'll ask you to hang in there a few days longer if you contact us.

Why does OneDayOnly take 5 - 10 days to ship? The answer may surprise you.

How long does delivery take?

That mostly depends on on the supplier and the product.

In 99% of cases, we get you your stuff in 5 - 10 working days, but it can take longer. After ordering, processing and preparing your order we will send you a tracking number that you can use to see where your goodies are.

Here's a whole article we wrote about this very subject. It explains in excruciating detail why we don't do same or next-day deliveries.

How do I return something with Pargo?

If you've been in contact with our Customer Service team, and been informed that you can use Pargo for your return, have a look here to find your nearest drop off point.

Bring the documentation we have provided with you. This is important: you cannot simply drop off a parcel without any paperwork, as the store wouldn't know what to do with it.

That's it, we'll give you a shout when we've received the parcel and proceed from there.

Fun fact: there are more than a thousand Drop-off points in South Africa and they can be found at Shell, Clicks, Caltex, Vee's Videos, Waltons, OK Grocer, Alpha Pharm, Mr. Video, 7-Eleven and Spar. Note that not all stores participate.

Find out more on Pargo.co.za.

How much will shipping be?

Please proceed to checkout to find out: you'll find the exact cost based on your location, as well as the size and weight of your purchase.

Why, you ask? Allow us to explain.

In short: shipping costs money and we don't want to go bankrupt.

We have debated the merits of offering free shipping at length but the reality is that – without some magic source of free cash – the only place that money can come from is from our customers. That's you.

That leaves us with two options: hide it in the price of the product, or show it. We decided to be transparent and show it. This lets us cut our prices to the bare minimum and show you the best possible savings.

If we had incorporated the shipping cost into the price of an item, you’d pay double whenever you order more than one item but, in reality, the cost of shipping doesn’t necessarily go up.

By the way: the actual shipping charge you pay is a best-effort approximation of what shipping is going to cost us. As a result, ordering a 3kg item to Sandton or Cape Town may work out cheaper than a 75g iPhone cover to Springbok. Don’t blame us; blame the vast expanse that is our beautiful South Africa.

We'd love to offer free shipping. But we can't, because that means turning our company into a loss-making enterprise.

Warranty, defects and returns

What is your refund policy?

You can almost (*) always return a product for a refund. But please give us a shout first.

If you want to return a product be sure to contact us within 5 days of receipt of the item.

Provide the order number, the name of the product you would like to return, and the reason for the requested return. We will then get back to you with further instructions.

If you paid via credit card, we can reverse the payment. If you paid via any other method (EFT, eBucks, Discovery Miles, SnapScan, Zapper or UCount Rewards) we can only process the refund via an EFT.

(*) Please note that we do not accept returns on underwear, lingerie, bras, panties, swimwear, earrings, etc.

How can I return something?

You can almost (*) always return a product. But please give us a shout first.

If you want to return a product for a refund, be sure to contact us within 7 days of receipt with the order number, the name of the product you would like to return and the reason for return.

Note that we cannot provide a refund unless the product is in its original condition- including packaging, documentation, warranty cards, manuals and accessories.

Because we aren't likely to have a replacement (if appropriate) in stock, you should be prepared for a refund-only option. Note that return freight will be at your expense.

(*) Please note that 1) we do not accept returns on underwear, lingerie, bras, panties, swimwear, earrings and such and that 2) return freight is at the customer's expense.

Can I return underwear, swimwear or earrings?

Nope. Unfortunately we cannot accept returns on underwear, lingerie, bras, panties, swimwear, earrings and such. To prevent problems, please make sure you purchase the correct size!

My product stopped working!

Uh oh.

First, make sure the product is really broken and not just in need of a fresh set of batteries. You'd be surprised...

If that doesn't solve it, let us know. We'll then give it a bash and see what we can do for you.

We may end up with sending a new part, a replacement unit, or a refund.

Please do note that, due to our business model (we don't hold stock and run mostly once-off specials), we do many more refunds than replacements.

Are my purchases covered under warranty?

Yes, but mostly not by us. Almost every product is covered by the warranty provided by the manufacturer.

That said, if your precious new toy breaks, it's easiest to get in touch with us and we'll have them contact you.

What if the product arrives damaged?

Although this doesn't happen much, things occasionally get damaged in transit.

If the box looks damaged, please take a photo or two of the damage. Then, you can proceed to open the package to see what sad state your new toy is in. If it's good, keep it! If it is dodgy, let us know. We'll then give it a bash and see what we can do for you.

Note that, due to our business model (not holding stock and running mostly once-off specials), we mostly do refunds instead of replacements.

Our official (blue verified badged!) Twitter handle is @OneDayOnlycoza but for support we prefer to direct tweeps to @AskOneDayOnly for fast replies during office hours and slightly less fast replies when we're off the clock.

How do I search for a product on your site?

Right now, you can't. But Google is your friend!

If you use Google to search: air fryer site:onedayonly.co.za, Google will only show you "Air Fryer" results on the "OneDayOnly.co.za" domain.

How can I reset my password?

If you would like to reset your password, simply go to the login page, click the Forgot Password? button and let enter your email address you used to sign up.

Please note that if you signed up with Facebook, this won't work: your Facebook password is strictly between you and Facebook.

Can I become a supplier and sell my products with you?

We're always interested in growing our base of suppliers - especially when it comes to quality merchandise.

The way we work is very simple and we want it to be as easy as possible for you. Please send the following information through to sales@onedayonly.co.za:

  • Your best possible cost price ex VAT (please let us know if you're not VAT registered)
  • Normal retail price
  • Available Stock

We will then work out our selling price for the site in line with our required margin. Please note that we are a deals driven business and we can only run a deal if your prices are amazing.

Once a deal has been agreed upon, we will set a date to run and then freeze/reserve the stock with you the day before. We will send you the links to the deals to approve as well. The deal will then run for 24 hours and thereafter an order will be placed by lunchtime the following working day. We would need delivery as soon as possible as we promise delivery to our customers within 5-10 working days.

Unsubscribe me please

So you don't want our newsletter anymore? Seen enough? Inbox filling up rapidly?

Whatever your reason, it's easy to unsubscribe from our daily barrage of amazing deals: in our newsletter, head over to the bottom and click where it says "click here."

That's it. Easy.

When will My Print Bar vouchers be sent?

Usually our canvas, calendar and photo book print vouchers from companies like MyPrintBar are sent to our customers within a day or so of purchasing.

However - depending on volumes - we may require up to three business days to send your print vouchers.

How to activate the Entertainer app

If you have purchased the Entertainer App, an email will be sent in the next few business day with your voucher codes, and instructions on how to redeem them.

Why pay shipping on a photo book or canvas print voucher?

Isn't a voucher or coupon a digital download? Yes it is.

But when it comes to vouchers for printing on canvas, photo books, calendars, etc., we do often charge shipping when you purchase with us.

We're not trying to pull a quick one: this is to make sure you don't have to pay when your prints are sent to you by the printing business themselves.

In other words, it's not shipping to get your voucher to you, but rather a pre-payment of the shipping charge to get your printed product to you.

We haven't always done it this way, but we find that if we don't charge shipping, our customers end up with an unpleasant surprise when they process their prints and find out only then that there's more to be paid.
